The Office of Financial Management (OFM) is comprised of a wide range of professionals dedicated to serving the needs of the people of Washington.
Positions within our Budget Division serves all Washingtonians by planning, analyzing, implementing, monitoring, and recommending state operating and capital budgets to the Governor.
Staff within the Forecasting and Research Division provide the Executive Branch, Legislature, and public with research and data on various issues related to state budget, public policy, and demographics.
Individuals a part of our Serve WA team implement AmeriCorps programs, sets priorities for community service programs, and leverages federal program dollars with additional local, state, and private sector resources, as well as works with local organizations to help educate CERT volunteers with preparedness and basic disaster response skills.
Our State Human Resources Division has a wide range of positions that assist in managing the statewide human resources policy functions which include classification, compensation, workforce data, civil service rules, recruitment, and many others.
One Washington team members are responsible for modernizing and improving the state’s aging systems and business processes by upgrading the current technology system to a cloud-base enterprise wide system for our finance, procurement, budget, HR, and payroll processes.
Staff within the Statewide Accounting Division supports and provides financial direction to all state agencies through state accounting policies, as well as offering training and consulting services.
Technology professionals serving under the Information Technology Services Division develop, maintain, and support applications that state agencies use to manage their budget, accounting, and human resources systems.
Our OFM internal agency support divisions consists of our Fiscal and Operations, Human Resources, Communications, Organization and Performance, and Legal and Legislative Affairs teams. These teams are made up of administrative, legal, project managers, HR consultants, payroll, and many other professionals in which direct the day-to-day management of OFM to ensure our agency sustains a culture of equity and belonging.
The Office of Financial Management is invested in not only providing excellent services to the people of Washington, but also supporting and caring for our employees. Our strategic plan for 2023-25 is the result of an equitable and inclusive one-year process that involved all OFM employees through agency- and division-level planning. Our strategic plans allows us to be accountable to our agency goals as well as our employees.
